If you’re looking for a magical Christmas event in Leek, you won’t want to miss our Festive Mouse Hunt at Bibelot! We’re incredibly excited to be taking part in Leek’s Advent Celebrations this year, and we can’t wait to welcome families, friends and festive explorers into the shop for some seasonal fun.

A Mischievous Maileg Adventure Awaits…

While we were busy creating our enchanting Christmas windows, our cheeky Maileg mice (and a few of their friends) decided to make a grand escape. Now they’re hiding all over Bibelot, and we need your help to track them down!

Bring the whole family and enjoy wandering through our store as you hunt for tiny mice nestled among gifts, bags, fabric, yarn, ribbons. Follow the clues, complete the trail, and collect a little treat* as a thank you for your brilliant detective work.

This is a free, drop-in event that’s perfect for all ages. Whether you’re a local or visiting for the Leek Advent Celebrations, it’s a lovely way to add some festive magic to your evening.

The full trail spans three floors, though our downstairs area is wheelchair accessible.

What Are Leek’s Advent Celebrations?

If you’re new to the area or visiting for the season, you may be wondering what Leek Advent Celebrations are all about.

This December, the community of Leek is coming together once again to create a town-wide Advent Celebration - a joyful programme of festive events designed to showcase generosity, kindness, creativity and community spirit throughout the run-up to Christmas.

Building on two successful years of the beloved 24 Doors project, originally hosted by Outside Arts, Leek’s residents, community organisations and local businesses are continuing the tradition with the launch of Advent Celebrations 2025.

With something for all ages - performances, trails, window displays, creative workshops and more - Advent Celebrations offer a unique invitation to explore, celebrate and connect with the people and places that make our town so special.
