Mohair Bear Workshop
Our lovely and very talented tutor Meg makes the most beautiful fully jointed, mohair toys. In this workshop she passes on her amazing skills and knowledge so you can develop your skills and learn how to create your very own traditional toy. This cute traditional teddy bear makes the perfect heirloom gift!
What you will make….. a beautiful mohair, fully jointed teddy bear toy. You can also choose from a range of different mohair fabric, so your teddy bear really will be unique to you!
What you will learn….. Session 1 – In this workshop you will mark & cut out your bear and begin to stitch the seams. Take your bear home with you and do some preparation for the next session. The 1st session will be on the 26th October.
Session 2 – In this workshop you will learn to make your bears’s joints made with cotter pins and discs. Stuff, stitch and finish your bear with glass eyes and a cute little nose! This session will take place on the 2nd November.
By the end of the 2 sessions you should have an individual heirloom teddy bear to name and love!
The skills you learn from the day should enable you to try further projects but we also offer lots of other sewing workshops to build up your confidence and develop your sewing techniques. Please take a look at out other workshops.
What’s included….. We provide all the equipment needed, all materials (Please note: you can choose from a range of mohair fabric but this may vary from the image), worksheets, refreshments (tea or coffee & homemade cake served on vintage china). You will also receive a 10% off voucher (valid for one week) for any haberdashery or craft item that is bought on the day of the workshop.
